DSE-JD-HSW-Reservation of seats in Educational institutions for the Most
Backward Class communities out of overall reservation
available for OBCs –

It is informed that Govt. have made the following
partial amendment in the reservation for the Other Backward Classes for the
purpose of admission of students in Educational Institutions vide G.O.(1) cited
namely
VERTICAL RESERVATION
1 Scheduled Castes 16%
2 Other Backward Classes 33%
A ratio of 60:40
as the quantum of reservation for the Most Backward Classes and Other Backward
Classes respectively shall be adopted out of the overall reservation of 33% for
the Other Backward Classes.
Further it is
informed that Govt. vide G.O. (1) cited has notified the following 12
castes/Communities as Most Backward Classes.
1.
Irular / Vettaikarar / Kattunaikar
2.
Kuyavar / Kulalar / Kumbarar / Kummari including
Mannudayar, Pathar, Poonul Kuyavar, velaar
3.
Marutha Naidu
4.
Maruthuvar / Nayee Brahmin / Mangali including
Ambattan, Navithar, Pandithar, Pariyari, Pronopakari.
5.
Meenavar / Agni kulashatriya / Mukkuvam
including Chettiar, Chinna pattinavar, Meenava Chettiar, Nattar, Paravar, Parvatharajakulam,
Pattinavar, Pattinava Chettiar, Periya Pattinavar, Sembadavar
6.
Ottar
7.
Vannan /
Vannar / Ekali / Mannan / Rajaka / Chakkali
8.
Vanniakula Kshatriya including Gounder, Naikar,
Padayatchi, Pillai, Vanniar
9.
Yerukula
10.
Nokkar / Nokkan
11.
Narikuravar
12.
Medara of Yanam
Hence, the
heads of Govt. Higher Secondary schools are requested to adhere to the
reservation policy strictly in admission of students to XI standard.
In order to
mitigate the difficulties of the students seeking admission in Higher Secondary
Classes, the Heads of Institutions are advised that the entries available in
the transfer certificates in regard to the residence status and community of
the students may be relied upon for provisionally admitting the student.
However the student may be permitted to produce the required certificate before
the end of first term of the academic year.
